What Blind Adventure is

Blind Adventure is a booking platform for surprise group activities (“Adventures”). You book a spot without knowing the exact activity, meeting point, or who else is coming — those are revealed shortly before the start. This is not a dating site: Adventures are group activities, and any romance-specific matching only ever happens alongside other people who opted into the same group format.

The activity itself is delivered by an independent Provider (a tour operator, venue, or similar), not by Blind Adventure. Blind Adventure operates the booking, matching, and crew-formation platform; the Provider is responsible for running the actual Adventure safely and professionally.

Who can book

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book an Adventure. Age is self-declared at signup; we don’t currently verify identity documents.

Booking, cancellation, and price

Some Adventures are free; some have a price, shown on the Adventure page before you book. For a free Adventure, a booking is confirmed as soon as you book it. For a paid one, your booking is only confirmed once payment completes via our payment provider, Stripe — until then it’s held for you for a limited time (30 minutes for a fresh booking, 24 hours if you were offered a spot from the waitlist), after which the hold is released and offered to the next person. You can cancel a free booking at any time until the Adventure’s start time, free of charge.

A paid Adventure shows its own refund policy before you book: fully refundable until it starts, refundable only until we mark that tickets/materials have been purchased for it (after which cancelling still gives up your spot, but the amount paid is kept, because we can no longer get it back either), or not refundable at all. Cancelling always gives up your spot regardless of whether money comes back. If Blind Adventure cancels an Adventure itself (e.g. too few people booked it), everyone who paid is refunded in full, regardless of the Adventure’s own refund policy.

Booking a dated leisure activity like this is a service “related to leisure activities, performance of which is to take place on a specific date” under § 312g(2) no. 9 BGB — the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases does not apply; cancellation is instead governed by the refund policy above (not legal advice — this reflects our understanding, see the draft notice above).

If too few people book a free Adventure, or a formed crew doesn’t reach the minimum group size, Blind Adventure may cancel the Adventure and will notify everyone who booked by email.

Crews and matching

Once booking closes, Blind Adventure groups confirmed bookers into crews using a matching algorithm based on the profile information you provide (interests, availability, and — only if you opt in — romance-specific attributes). Crew composition is not shown to you in advance; the meeting point is released a short time before the Adventure starts.

Your responsibilities

Many Adventures involve physical activity, outdoor conditions, or other real-world risk. You are responsible for judging whether an Adventure’s stated physical requirements, age limits, and safety information (shown on every Adventure page) are appropriate for you, and for following the Provider’s safety instructions on site.

Reporting and blocking

If something goes wrong during an Adventure, you can report it and/or block the person involved from being matched with you again — see the Safety page. Reports are reviewed by an admin; we may suspend an account that violates these terms or puts other users at risk.

Liability

Blind Adventure is not liable for the conduct of Providers or other participants, or for injury, loss, or damage arising from participating in an Adventure, except where required by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body, or health.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. Continuing to use Blind Adventure after a change means you accept the updated terms.
